Byron Delano Hamlin, born May 7, 1824, Sheshequin, Bradford County, Pennsylvania; son of Doctor Asa and Asenath Delano Hamlin; moved, Smethport, Pennsylvania, 1833; principal, Smethport Academy, 1844; married, Harriet Holmes Hamlin, 1846, children, Delano Richmond Hamlin, Jenette Hamlin Redfield, Mary Hamlin Forrest; elected, Democrat, Pennsylvania State Senate, 1853-1855, Speaker of the Pennsylvania State Senate, 1854; member, board, Bradford Hospital, 1881; industrial, corporate attorney; died, September 4, 1907 (aged 83), Smethport, McKean County, Pennsylvania; interment, Rose Hill Cemetery, Smethport, McKean County, Pennsylvania.
