Seymour born August 21, 1820, Bath, Steuben County, New York; son of Joseph Seymour; Franklin Academy, Prattsburg, Steuben County, New York; moved, Tioga County, Pennsylvania, 1840 carpenter; read law with state Senator John W. Guernsey; admitted, Tioga bar, 1847; attorney at law; elected, Republican, Pennsylvania State Senate, 1876-1880; Tioga County law practice; married Lydia Anne Humphrey, one son, two daughters; died, June 6th, 1882 (aged 61) Tioga, Tioga County, Pennsylvania; interment, Evergreen Cemetery, Tioga, Tioga County, Pennsylvania.
