Colonel William Piper, born January 1, 1774, Bloody Run, Bedford County, (now Everett, County, Pennsylvania), Province of Pennsylvania, British Colonial America; son of Major General John Michael and Elizabeth Catherine Lusk Piper; colonel, regiment, War of 1812; Adjutant General of Pennsylvania after the war; elected, Constitutionalist (Quid and Federalist), Pennsylvania State House of Representatives, 1805-1807; elected, Republican, United States House of Representatives, 1811-1817; unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania State House of Representatives, Bedford County, 1813; elected, Democratic-Republican, Pennsylvania State Senate, 14th district, 1817-1821; elected, Democratic-Republican, Pennsylvania State Senate, 22nd district, 18291-1833; married, Catherine Orth Piper, children, Willie Piper, Luther R.
