Alfred Miller Neely, born, April 23, 1849,  Saint Petersburg, Clarion County, Pennsylvania; son of Isaac and Elizabeth C. Miller Neely; Edinboro State Normal School (now Pennsylvania Western University, Edinboro); school teacher; engaged, oil, coal and lumbering; proprietor, Neely Brothers, and A. M. Neely and Company, general merchandise stores; married, Clara V. Grabel Neely, 1875, daughter, Effie M. Neely Hesser; elected, Democrat, Pennsylvania State House of Representatives,  1883-1886; not a candidate for reelection, 1886; elected, Democrat, Pennsylvania State Senate, 1899-1903; postmaster, United States Postal Service, Alum Rock, Pennsylvania, 1903; died, January 6, 1907, Alum Rock, Clarion County, Pennsylvania; interment, Saint Petersburg Cemetery, Saint Petersburg, Clarion County, Pennsylvania.
