Early Life:

George Marlow, born July 9 , 1870, Loughborough, Leicestershire, England; son of Joseph and Elizabeth Black Marlow; educated at Leicester, the county seat of that county; after spending two years in a lawyer's once at Leicester and having finished school, came with his parents to Philadelphia, August 29, 1887; for one year after arriving in Philadelphia; clerk, office of The John E. Jenkins Company, Pottery Manufacturers, Port Richmond, Philadelphia; stenographer, Earnline Steamship Company, Bullitt Building, Philadelphia resigned after nineteen years; secretary, treasurer, York Metal and Alloy Company, York, 1907; engaged, other manufacturing companies, The Marlow Knitting Corporation, Brooklyn, New York; elected, Republican Pennsylvania State Senate, 1919-1922; married, Clara C Herzig Marlow; died, January 20, 1955 (aged 84), Seitz Convalescent Home, Dallastown, York County, Pennsylvania; interment, Saint Mary's-Saint Patrick's Cemetery Violet Hill, York County, Pennsylvania.
