Doctor David Engleman, born December 30, 1835, Bath Northampton County, Pa.; son of Abraham and Maria Magdalena Polly Patterson Engleman; Jefferson Medical College (now Sidney Kimmel Medical College), M.D., 1864; physician; elected, Democrat, Pennsylvania State House of Representatives, 1870-1871, not a candidate for reelection, 1872; elected, Democrat, Pennsylvania State Senate, 1877-1878; president, Pennsylvania State Board of Health; elected, council, Easton; president, Northampton County Medical Society; married, Amanda M. Lerch Engelman, (d.1866) Rebecca S. Ruhe Ettinger Engelman, 1870; died, May 14, 1913, Easton, Northampton County, Pennsylvania; interment, Union West End Cemetery, Allentown, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania.
