Allen Craig, born December 25, 1835, Lehigh Gap, Carbon County, Pennsylvania; son of Senator Thomas and Catherine Hagenbuch Craig; attended, Reverend John Vandeveer Academy, Easton, Pennsylvania; Lafayette College, 1855; studied law with Milo M. Legacy:

Father, Thomas Craig, Jr., Pennsylvania State Senate, 8th district, Carbon, Monroe, Pike, Wayne Counties, 1857-1859.

As counsel to the Lehigh Valley Railroad, the Senator served as a prosecutor against the Molly Maguires, assisting (former Senator) Francis Wade Hughes, who served as chief prosecutor.

Trustee, superintended Dimmick Memorial Library Building, stipulated by the will of Milton Dimmick, whose father Milo, studied law with. Opened October 1, 1890, still in use today.

Chairman, Building Committee, Civil War Moment to brave soldiers who fought, County of Carbon, dedication September 28, 1886.
