Abner Ross, born March 30, 1838, Washington Township, Greene County, Pa.; son of Benjamin and Hannah Johns Ross; common school education; George's Creek Academy, Fayette County; Waynesburg College, Greene County, Pa.; farmer; is at present a boot and shoe merchant; sheriff of Greene County, 1871-1873; member, council, borough of Waynesburg; member, borough of Waynesburg School Board, member, Washington Township School Board; elected, Democrat, Pennsylvania State Senate, 1885-1886; married, Margaret Pricilla Mitchell Ross, 1863, children, Albert Lee Ross, Benjamin Franklin Ross, Isaac W Ross, Fannie E Ross; died, May 2, 1907 (aged 69), Ellwood City, Lawrence, Pennsylvania interment, Green Mount Cemetery, Waynesburg, Greene County, Pennsylvania.
