Doctor Jacob Wagenseller, born January 12, 1801, son of Peter and Susan Wagneseller; University of Pennsylvania; physician; medical practice of medicine, Selinsgrove, Snyder (then Union) County, 1827; engaged, general store, mercantile business, dealing extensively in grain; married, Mary Richter Wagenseller Boyer, 1829, children, Peter Richter Wagenseller, Sarah Susannah Wagenseller Evans, Lydia C. Wagenseller, Mary Wagenseller Gearhart; Benjamin Franklin Wagenseller; Lydia C. Wagenseller Holman; Martha Virginia Wagonseller Sharpless; John Jacob Wagenseller; elected, Whig, Pennsylvania State Senate, 1846-1847; died, April 27, 1847, in the office of Senate; interment, Union Cemetery, Selinsgrove, Snyder County, Pennsylvania.
