W. Hunt and Company; elected, council, Munhall Borough (thirteen years); elected, Republican, Pennsylvania State House of Representatives, 1915-1916, not a candidate for reelection, 1916; elected, Republican, Pennsylvania State Senate, 1917-1922; married, Katharine E Mitschelen, children, Julia Mitshelen Whitten, Robert A Whitten, Robert Quail Whitten, II; died, March 17, 1922 (age 53) while in office of the Senate, Munhall, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; interment, Allegheny Cemetery, Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
