Early Life:

John P. Blake (D), born August 1, 1960, in Scranton, son of the late John V. and Theresa M. Blake; Valley View High School, 1978; Villanova University (B.A.), sociology, 1983; Marywood University (M.S.W.), administrative track, 1987; Harvard JFK School of Government, Executive Education in Public Management, 1998 (Mattos, 2019); U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Builders Fellowship, 1998 (Senator John Blake, 2019); University of Scranton Kania School of Management (M.B.A.), finance, 2001; married Louise, 2 children (Mattos, 2019).

Early Career:

Former vice-president/senior advisor, PNC Bank; former director, Northeast Regional Office of the Governor; former acting secretary/executive deputy secretary, Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED); former executive director, Lackawanna County Redevelopment Authority, 10 years (Mattos, 2019); executive director, Lackawanna County Tourism Promotion Agency; chair/founding member, Pennsylvania Military Community Enhancement Commission; former adjunct faculty member, economics, University of Scranton Kania School of Management; board member, Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA), Public School Employees’ Retirement System (PSERS)( Senator John Blake, 2019).
