Robert Douglas Heaton, born Raven Run, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, July 1, 1873, son of William and Emily Heaton; moved, Ashland, Pennsylvania, with parents, 1886; common schools education; Canandaigua Academy, Canandaigua, New York; New York Military Academy, Cornwall on the Hudson, New York; University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia; businessman; unsuccessful candidate, United States House of Representatives, 1910; elected, Republican, United States House of Representatives, 1915-1919, not candidate for reelection, 1919; elected, Republican Pennsylvania State Senate, 1919-1932; resumed his former business activities; member of the board of trustees, Ashland State Hospital; died June 11, 1933 (age 59 years, 345 days), Ashland, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, interment, Mauch Chunk Cemetery, Jim Thorpe, Carbon County, Pennsylvania.
