David Stanley Hassinger, born 1796, Pennsylvania; son of Jacob Hassinger senior; studied law, admitted, Philadelphia Bar, 1819; practicing attorney, 110 Mulberry, Philadelphia, 1824; engaged, real estate investor; associate justice/alderman; named as a co-defendant with his brother Jonathan, in an 1839 bankruptcy case, the indication was that the two men were early investors in the Luzerne coal fields – nevertheless, unsuccessful ones at that; elected, Democrat, Pennsylvania State Senate, 1830-1835; unmarried; died, April 18, 1867 (aged 70–71), Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interment, Laurel Hill Cemetery, Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.
