 Frank A. Smith, born 1873, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; when five years old, removed to Sandusky, Ohio; public school education; Upper Canada College, Toronto, Ontario; at the age of twenty-one took out naturalization papers; located, Harrisburg, 1895; established, Frank A. Smith Company; member, Republican State Committee, chairman, Dauphin County Republican Committee, 1912; elected, Pennsylvania State Senate, 1919-1924; died, August 26, 1930 (age57), heart disease, summer home, Taylor Island, Dorchester County, Maryland, interment, Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky, Erie County, Ohio. 

Early Career:

Established, Frank A. Smith Company, with offices in Harrisburg, Philadelphia and Wilkes Barre. 

Member, Association of Manufacturers' Representatives; director, Union Trust Company, Harrisburg; member, Poor Richard Club of Philadelphia. 

Pennsylvania Politics:

Elected, Pennsylvania State Senate, 15th district, Dauphin County, February 25, 1919-1920, to fill the unexpired of Honorable Edward E. Beidleman, resigned, who became Lieutenant Governor; reelected, Pennsylvania State Senate, 15th district, Dauphin County, 1921-1924; committee assignments, Appropriations, Banks and Building and Loan Associations, Congressional Apportionment, Corporations, Elections, Finance, Forestry, Judiciary Special, Municipal Affairs, Public Grounds and Buildings, Public and Sanitation (Chairman), Public Printing, Railroads.
