Doctor George B. Seamans, born November 11, 1830, Abington, Luzerne (now Lackawanna) County, Pennsylvania; son of Davis H. and Eliza Potter Seamons; academic education; Pennsylvania Medical College, Philadelphia; physician, surgeon, 1853-1870; married, Sarah Samantha Gardner, 1855, children, Nellie Ella Seamans and Jane “Jennie” Seamans Elms; coroner, Luzerne County, 1872-1874; physician, surgeon, private practice; elected, Republican, Pennsylvania State Senate, 1877-1882; died, September 10, 1906  (aged 75) Avoca, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, interment Sunnyside Cemetery Tunkhannock, Wyoming County, Pennsylvania.
