Newbold, born March 17, 1772, Chesterfield, Burlington County, New Jersey, British Colonial America; son of William and Susannah Stevenson Newbold; moved, from Chester County, to Philadelphia, 1791; merchant, with brother William Newbold; founder, Delaware City, New Castle County, Delaware; married, Elizabeth Lawrie Newbold, 1795, children, William Lawrie Newbold, Mary Ann Vanuxem, Susan Lawrie Cope, Emily Perkins; returned, Chester County, Pennsylvania, 1796-1815; elected, Federalist, Pennsylvania State Senate, 1812-1814; moved, Bucks County, operated, Bloomadale Farm, Bristol, Bucks County, Pennsylvania; died, June 6, 1841 (age 69), Bristol Friends Cemetery, Bristol, Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
