Early Life: 

Immigrant. Private, American Revolutionary War. Died, 1807, interment, Linden Street Cemetery, Allentown, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvania Politics: 

Elected, Democratic-Republicans, Pennsylvania State House of Representatives, Northampton County, 1790-1792.

Elected, Democratic-Republicans, Pennsylvania State House of Representatives, Northampton and Wayne Counties, 1798-1799. 

Elected, Democratic-Republicans, Pennsylvania State Senate, Northampton County, 1799-1801; party affiliation based on vote on proposed district system for selecting presidential electors in the election of 1800. A vote for the measure would have ensured the Federalists at least a portion of the electoral votes. A vote against the measure would have guaranteed that all the electoral votes would go to the Democratic-Republicans. Since the State Senate was still Federalist dominated, no election law was passed and the legislature cast the vote, with Jefferson receiving one more electoral vote than Adams.
