William McKinney Piatt Jr., born July 8, 1814; Allenwood, Union County, Pennsylvania; son of William Sr. and Mary Brady Piatt, moved, Tunkhannock, Wyoming County, 1835, opening a law office; married Rebecca Heston McClintock, 1845 children, Robert McClintock Piatt, Frank Hammond Piatt, James Wilson Piatt, Joseph Wood Piatt; Susquehanna County, 1850; elected, Democrat, Pennsylvania State Senate, 1853-1856, elected, Speaker, 1855-1856; returned to private practice; died, June 20, 1889, (aged 74) Tunkhannock, Wyoming County, Pennsylvania; interment, Sunnyside Cemetery, Tunkhannock, Wyoming County, Pennsylvania.
