Bennett and Sons, contracting business; engaged, banking, mining, real estate; delegate, Republican State Committee, 1930; elected, Republican, Pennsylvania State Senate, 1933-1936; president, First National Bank of Indiana, 1933-1960; married, Nelle Virginia McGregor Bennett, children, Edward B. Jr., Charlette, Virginia, Katherine; August 18, 1960 (aged 71) Indiana, Indiana County, Pennsylvania, interment, Oakland Cemetery and Mausoleum, Indiana, Indiana County, Pennsylvania. 

Early Career:

President, M. Bennett and Sons, 1932, guided the firm in the construction of hundreds of miles of highways in Pennsylvania, New York and Maryland. Was instrumental in securing the Pennsylvania Highway Department barns and offices on North Fourth Street in Indiana, now the site of an S&T Bank office, 1928-1930.

President, First National Bank of Indiana, 1933-1960; president, Indiana Real Estate Company, Indiana Contracting Company, Indiana Equipment Company.
