Hess Laubach; public school education; Allentown Seminary; Franklin and Marshall College; managed, fathers mercantile and milling businesses; president, Northampton Brewing Company; elected, Democratic County Committee; elected, State Democratic Committee; delegate, numerous state nominating conventions; school director, Northampton Township (now borough); elected, Democrat, Pennsylvania Senate of Pennsylvania, November 1891-1894; elected, Democrat, Pennsylvania Senate of Pennsylvania, 1895-1896, married, Elizabeth Stewart, 1876, children, Mabel S. Laubach Nagel, Samuel Townsend Laubach, James Howard Laubach; died, April 10, 1916 (age 63), Allen Township, Northampton, Pennsylvania; interment, Greenwood Cemetery, Howertown, Allen Township, Northampton, Pennsylvania.

Elected, Democrat, Pennsylvania Senate of Pennsylvania, 18th district, Northampton County, 1895, becoming first state senator from Northampton County to succeed himself, but he was unseated during a subsequent contested election by Republican Henry Heller, June 8, 1895.
