Born in Dickson, Tennessee, October 7, 1876, the son of James and Maria Smith (Gates) Lamb; to Hubbard, Trumball Co., Ohio, by 1880; and to Rockland Township, Venango County in 1883; attended country schools; Clarion State Normal School; Allegheny College; Grove City College; taught school; graduated with a medical degree from Hahnemann Medical College, Philadelphia, locating a private practice first in Rouseville, then in Oil City. Served as a member of the Republican State Committee and held numerous township and county offices. He married Mary Catherine Smith of Turkey City, Clarion County in 1906. Dr. Lamb died in Oil City, Venango County, May 4, 1953, interred at Rynd Farm, Pennsylvania. He married Amelia Gates Smith.
