Born July 31, 1870, York, Pennsylvania, the son of John and Anna Margaret (Wagner) Klinedinst; educated in public schools and York College; served as a clerk in the York Post Office; studied law; entered Yale law school and graduated with an LL.B. in1897; admitted to the Connecticut bar in 1897, and York bar in 1899. He was elected Solicitor of York in 1899 and 1901; spearheaded many charitable and musical community programs; an “ardent” member of the county’s Democratic Party, David was elected to a single term in the state Senate, 1907-1910. He returned to York after legislative service, committed to his law practice for the remainder of his life. David married Mary Eliza Moulson of Rochester, New York, in 1908; Senator Klinedinst died in York, September 24, 1940.
