Kline, Sr., born October 25, 1852, Jerseytown, Columbia County, Pennsylvania; attended public schools, Lancaster County; completed his early education; teacher age 14, Derry School; moved, Luzerne County, 1869; teacher, principal, Jeanesville School; admitted, Luzerne County bar, 1877; attorney, private practice, Kline and Bigelow, Hazleton, 1877; delegate, Republican State Conventions, 1876, 1878; practiced law; member, Hazelton School Board, Hazelton City Council, elected, Pennsylvania State Senate, 1893-1896;  married, twice, one son Clarence, Jr.; died, January 24, 1918. Burial location unknown.
