Born in Allentown, Pa., May 7, 1897, Edward J. Kessler was the son of Tobias and Elizabeth Krall Kessler. He was educated in public schools and graduated from Franklin and Marshall College, Lancaster, in 1920. He served in the US Army Ambulance Service, WWI, 1917-1919; was the director of labor relations for Armstrong Cork Co., Lancaster; retired and elected to the state Senate to fill the unexpired term of Frederick L. Homsher, deceased; was reelected in 1956 and 1960. He resigned in 1962, midterm. The Hon. Edward J. Kessler died on Nov. 29, 1969.
