George Washington Holzwarth, born February 22, 1860, Southwark district, city of Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; son of George and Caroline F. Gunther Holzwarth; public schools, education; engaged, book binders' trade; married, Caroline W.  Adams, 1884, daughter, Irene Holzwarth; member, Sixth Sectional School Board, 1891-1900; elected, Republican, Pennsylvania State Senate, 1899-1900; died, May 13, 1900 (aged 40), consumption, in office, Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interment, Northwood Cemetery, West Oak Lane, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.
