First Lieutenant John Bouderman Foulkrod, born March 8, 1792, Frankford Township, Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; son of Jacob and Mary Bouderman Foulkod; first lieutenant, Thompson’s Regiment, Pennsylvania Militia, War of 1812; married, Mahela F Lukkens, 1815, children, Levi Foulkrod, Jacob C. Foulkrod, Harriett Foulkrod, Mary C. Foulkrod, Jane L. Foulkrod, Sarah Foulkrod; member, Philadelphia’s Teacher’s Institute (the city’s first organized school board), elected, Pennsylvania State House of Representatives, 1827-1828; delegate, Pennsylvania State Constitutional Convention, 1838; elected, Pennsylvania State Senate, 1844-1846; died, July 11, 1862; interment, North Cedar Hill Cemetery, Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.
