Biography
1784 - 1850
Born 1784, the son of George and Sarah Fishburne Emlen, the Hon. George Emlen received a fine education; studied law and was admitted to the Philadelphia bar on June 15, 1808. He served as a member of the state House of Representatives, 1818-22; 1827-28; and the state Senate, 1823-1827. He died on August 27, 1850.
