Jonathan, Ely, Jr., born, April 27, 1804, Solebury, Bucks County, Pennsylvania; son of Jonathan and Cynthia Morton Ely; farmer; appointed, justice of the peace, Solebury and Buckingham Townships, 1832; member, Bucks County Democratic Committee; elected, Democrat, Pennsylvania House of Representatives, 1851-1853; elected, Pennsylvania State Senate, 1855-1858; died, February 7, 1864, Solebury, Bucks County, Pennsylvania; interment, Solebury Friends Graveyard, Solebury, Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
