Biography

Of White Marsh, Montgomery County, Frank Edmunds was born in Philadelphia, March 28, 1874, the son of Henry R. and Catherine Anne (Huntzinger) Edmonds.  He received his education in public schools; graduated from Philadelphia’s Central High School, 1891; Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, 1891-1893; was Andrew D. White Fellow, Cornell University1894-1895; University of Pennsylvania Law School, 1900-1903, Ph.B and LL.D.; admitted to practice law in local, state and federal courts; served as a member of the Board of Education, Philadelphia, 1906-1911; Receiver of Taxes, 1907; chaired the City Committee of the City Party, 1905; Lincoln Party State Committee, 1905-1906; Citizens Campaign Committee, Washington (Progressive) Party, 1912; state House of Representatives, 1920-1926; member of numerous civic, social, and professional associations; honorary member, VFW; and married Elise J. Beitler.  He died in office, October 29, 1945.
