Robert Darragh, born February 23, 1776; son of James and Christian Stafford Darragh  of Darraghstown, County Fermanagh, Ireland; immigrated, Philadelphia, 1798, relocated, Carlisle, Pennsylvania, then westward, Raccoon Creek, Beaver County, Pennsylvania; read law; admitted, bar; attorney; married, Deborah Hart, 1803; major, War of 1812; engaged, hotel keeper, operated, warehouse, shipping, general store businesses, Sharon, Pennsylvania; engaged, iron foundry, Sharon, Pennsylvania, 1813-which stayed in business 1902; elected, Whig, Pennsylvania State Senate, 1845-1847; died, July 21, 1872 (aged 96) Interment, Beaver Cemetery and Mausoleum, Beaver, Beaver County, Pennsylvania.

Early Career:
