George H. Cutler, born October 29, 1809, Guilford, Essex County, Vermont; son of Nahum and Martha Robbins Cutler; common school education, Vermont; tutored secondary education; married Louisa Stewart, 1830, children, Marcus N. Cutler, Elvira Cutler Hinds, Mary C. Cutler Hinds, Louisa Cutler Hinds, George A. Cutler; moved to Girard, Erie County Pennsylvania, 1835; teacher, Sterrettania, Erie County Pennsylvania; lawyer, practice with Honorable John Galbraith, Erie bar, 1840; firm, 1837, unsuccessful election, Democrat, United States Congress, 1852; elected Republican, Pennsylvania State Senate, 1873 and 1875 terms; died, at the home of son, Marcus N., July 26, 1882, Girard, Erie County, Pennsylvania; interment, Girard Cemetery, Girard, Erie County, Pennsylvania.
