Early Life:  

Doctor David McLean Crawford, born March 30, 1826, Mifflintown, Juniata County, Pennsylvania, son of Doctor David and Peggy Brown Crawford; English training, received, three-year course under instructor Reverend John Hutchinson; Medical University, City of New York, 1848-1849; attended, second course of lectures 1850- graduated,1851; physician; married, Ellen E. Jackman, children, Rebecca Murray, Anna Jane, Brodie Jackman, James Woodburn, Darwin McLean, Martyn Payne, Edgar Druitt; elected, Democrat, Pennsylvania State Senate, 1871--1873; elected, Democrat, Pennsylvania State Senate, 1877-1880; died, August 23, 1904 (aged 78) Juniata County, Pennsylvania; Interment Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown, Juniata County, Pennsylvania. 

Early Career:

Began practice with his brother, E. Darwin Crawford, Thompsontown, Juniata County while still in school. Opened active medical practice, Millerstown, Perry County 1851-1864, Returned, to practice in Mifflintown when his brother Senator Doctor Erasmus Crawford died, 1864.
