Biography

Of Lehigh Gap, Carbon County, Thomas was the son of Revolutionary War notable Col. Thomas Craig, born at Stemlersville, June 26, 1796.  He was a farmer, owner of the Lehighton Hotel, Capt. of the County Militia Light Horse Cavalry, 1828; and engaged in the staging, lumbering, and the mercantile business.   He served as a member of the state House of Representatives four years, and the state Senate three years.  He died in Northampton (now Carbon) County on July 4, 1858.  He was the father of state Senator Allen Craig.  He married Catherine Hagenbuch.
