Reed; married, Sarah Ann Read, 1819, daughter, Ann Matilda Reed Watts; elected, Democratic-Republican, Pennsylvania State Senate, 1815-1819; Pennsylvania State Deputy Attorney General; President Judge, Ninth Judicial District; teacher, trustee, Dickinson College, 1821-1828; retired, private law practice, 1839; died, January 19, 1850 (aged 63), Carlisle, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania; interment, Old Graveyard, Carlisle, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania.
