Early Life: 

Horace Royer born November 21, 1829, Providence, Montgomery County Pennsylvania; son of Joseph and Elizabeth Dewees; elected, Republican, Pennsylvania State Senate, 1865-1867; postmaster, Collegeville,  1870-72; married Christiana Boughman Todd, three children, Gertrude, Francis P, Mary, two died infancy; died, pneumonia, January 21, 1878, Pottstown, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania; interment, Pottstown Cemetery, Pottstown, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.

Early Career:

Postmaster, Collegeville, Pennsylvania, 1870-72.

Pennsylvania Politics:

Elected, Republican, Pennsylvania State Senate, 5th District, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery Counties, 1865-67; member Accounts, Agriculture and Domestic Manufacturing, Canals and Inland Navigation, Corporations and Public Printing.

Legacy:

Charlotte B. Royer (typhoid pneumonia) it is a singular sad coincidence that Mr. and Mrs. Royer died on the same day and just one week apart. (i)
