Benjamin Harvey Thompson, born September 24, 1873, Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; son of John Andrew and Sarah Jane Mellon McLain Thompson; public, private school education; Princeton University, 1897; admitted, Allegheny County Bar, 1901, Westmoreland Bar, 1913; engaged private law practice; first assistant district attorney, Westmoreland County, 1926-1929; elected, Republican, Pennsylvania State Senate, 1933-1936; president, Westmoreland Bar Association, 1944; died, June 4, 1963 (aged 89), Winfield Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania; interment, Plum Creek Cemetery, Plum, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
