William Anders Yeakle, born October 20, 1824, Whitemarsh Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania; son of Samuel and Lydia Anders Yeakle; common school education; engaged, farming; married, Caroline Hocker Yeakle, 1849; elected, Whitemarsh Township school board auditor, 1850-1868, unsuccessful republican campaign, Pennsylvania State Senate, 1870; elected, Republican, Pennsylvania State Senate, 1874-1876; died, August 17, 1888 (aged 63), interment, Union Cemetery, Whitemarsh, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
